Auditions for Evening with the Stars in St. Marys

St. Marys, GA-- Auditions for St. Marys Little Theatre’s popular annual “Evening with the Stars” (EWTS) show will be held at Theatrer by the Trax at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

If anyone has ever told you that you look or sound just like a certain celebrity, then EWTS might be for you. We encourage solos, duets, or groups. Singing and comedy acts are favored by our audiences. The shows will be held the weekends of February 28-March 2 and March 7-9.You must be able to commit to both weekends, Friday, Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees.

Things to know prior to auditions.

· There will only be 20 acts selected this year.

· You must be over the age of 16 to audition and perform in this year’s EWTS.

· Supply your own music. We will use bluetooth speaker or sound system at auditions. Make sure there are no other vocals on your track, and that it is in the key that you will be singing.

· Know your lyrics or act before auditioning. No reading from phone or script.

· To keep rehearsals to a minimum we will use rehearsal time to refine acts and rehearse blocking. No voice training or key transitions will be provided at rehearsals.

· You will work with the wardrobe mistress to select your costume or use something that you have on hand that has been approved by wardrobe and directors. We have many gowns and costumes to choose from.

· When considering your song or act choice, please choose the most popular song or act of the artist. We ask that you not choose any up-and-coming new artists or songs. Our audiences have expressed that they enjoy songs or acts from celebrities that are familiar to them.

· If you are unable to audition at this date and time, please send in a video audition to gloria.m.hurley@comcast.net prior to the audition date but no later than one day after (Jan. 6) to be considered for EWTS 2025.

· Within the next week after auditions, you will receive an email letting you know if you have been selected for EWTS. At that time, we will let you know when the first rehearsal will be.
