14TH ANNUAL HAUNTED HISTORY TOUR IN DOWNTOWN ST. MARYS

OCTOBER 27 FROM 6 TO 9PM

Some of St. Marys’ most chilling and historical figures will be out and about again on October 27as St. Marys Little Theatre (SMLT) presents its 14th Annual Haunted History Tour. This year’s line-up features haunting storytellers stationed in period costumes around eight venues in downtown St. Marys.  Venues include the historic Oak Grove Cemetery, Orange Hall, and the Goodbread House, among others.

SMLT Founder and Chair Barbara Ryan-Harris said that many people will be charmed by the goat man who is back by popular demand as is the Resurrection Angel. New this year are the visiting Witches from Salem, Thomas Carnegie, a scalawag pirate, and Aaron Burr reenacting his duel on the porch of Federal Quarters where Burr escaped after killing Alexander Hamilton. Plus, other spirits will regale spectators with tales from beyond the grave and creatively connected to St. Marys’ history.

Melding legends of local spirits with authentic historical events, professional and amateur storytellers will hold court beginning at 6 pm on Friday, October 27. Golf carts will be utilized for those who prefer not to walk the tour. Upon purchase of a ticket, guests can pick up a map of the tour and wristband at Once Upon a Bookseller or St. Marys Welcome Center, and they can begin the tour at any of the eight venues.

Tickets for the tour can be purchased in advance at Once Upon a Bookseller and the St. Marys Welcome Center in downtown St. Marys (cash or check please), or online atStMarysLittleTheatre.com. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under.  Groups of 20 or more can get a $2 discount for each ticket. For more information, call 954-290-9873.
